Our staff are local people, many whom you may know, who share our vision of excellence.  We are not satisfied with second best and we put our needs and wants last when compared to our client families.  Many of our staff members are involved in community events and organizations and we all share a deep devotion to our friends and neighbors when they place trust in us during their time of grief.

Jimmy is a native of Hazlehurst who has lived in Jesup for the past fifteen years.  He retired from B.C. Moore and Sons Inc. which later became Goody's Department Stores after forty-four years of service.  He and his wife, Sue Nell, are active members of Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoy life with their "Fur Babies."

Jeff is a native of Liberty County who has lived in Jesup since 2012.  He began working at a local funeral home while involved in the work study program when he was in high school.  After graduation he pursued higher learning and was recipient of an Associates of Applied Science in Funeral Service.  Jeff is an active member of the Jesup Rotary Club, the Jesup Elks Lodge  and the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce.  He is a communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, has two children, Jeff, Jr. and Aubrey (nicknamed Sally) and spends his spare time playing music, cooking or working in the yard.


Tommy Huff

Tommy is a native of St. John's Island, South Carolina who moved to Jesup after retirement from Kings Bay Submarine Base in 2006.  He and his wife, Trudie are members of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.  Tommy also enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time.


Brenda Lewis

Brenda is a lifelong resident of Wayne County.  Prior to joining the Howard & Jones Family, she enjoyed a lengthy career of caring for others in the dental assisting field.  She is married to Herman Lewis, Jr. who is the manager of R.W. Griffin's shop in Jesup.  Brenda and Herman are longtime members of Jesup Primitive Baptist Church and have one son, Garrett, who is the Pulp Mill Area Manager for Rayonier Advanced Materials.  He is married to the former Hannah Keith of Jesup.  Brenda enjoys daily walks, cheering on the Georgia Southern Eagles and helping to care for the livestock on the Lewis Farm.


Mike Priester

Mike is a Wayne County native who Graduated from Wayne County High School in 1960.  Later, he was recipient of a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia and served his country as an officer in the United States Navy.  He spent much of his working career as an entrepreneur and later retired from ZEP Manufacturing after more than twenty years in sales.   Mike is a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoys golfing, working on golf clubs, playing cards, reading and fishing in his spare time. He volunteers with the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and is married to the former Jarris Copeland.  The two also enjoy spending time with their family.  


Darlene Westberry

Darlene is a Wayne County native who has worked in the funeral industry for many years. She and her husband, Larry are active members of New Life Church and reside in the big city of Gardi.  They have two sons and daughters-in-law, Travis and Michelle and Brandon and Alexis.  Darlene spends her spare time with her grandchildren, Mason, Trenton and Emileigh.


John Westberry

Funeral Assistant

John is a full time fire fighter with the Jesup Fire Department who has worked part time with Howard & Jones since 2011.  He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and long rides on his golf cart.  He has one daughter, Alexis and a large extended family in the Jesup and Wayne County area.  He is a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Jesup.
