William Clifton Sapp, 62, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Wayne County, Clifton was born on March 21, 1958 in Waycross. He was a 1976 Graduate of Wayne County High School and worked for the Department of Agriculture before taking a position with the Department of Transportation from which he would retire after many years of service. After retirement, Clifton enjoyed farming with his brother. The two of them raised produce of all kinds including, sweet corn, snap beans and watermelons. In his spare time, Clifton enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with the ones he loved including his beloved canine companions.
His mother Lucile Ray Rooks and his father, W.L. “Billy” Sapp preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Tonya Herrin and husband, Kevin of K’Ville, Tammy Sapp and companion, Fulton Flowers of Jesup, Will Sapp of Jesup and Elizabeth Cain and husband, Breeze of Texas; step mother, Jean Sapp of K’Ville; brother, Kenny Sapp and wife, Lynn of K’Ville and sister, Suzanne Corbitt and husband, Hank of Screven. Numerous grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m, Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Ritch Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Guyton officiating.
