William Ellis, Jr.

William Ellis, Jr. 56, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 21, 2020 at home.

A longtime resident of Hazlehurst and resident of Jesup for the past thirteen years, William was born on January 19, 1964 in Plant City, Florida to the late William “Butch” and Betty Buckins Ellis.  He was a carpenter by trade who could build just about anything.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and cooking outside.  He was well known for smoking hogs the old fashioned way, in the ground, and spending time with the ones he loved was always his favorite pastime.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Janet Martin Ellis, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, William H. Ellis, Jr. “B.J.” and fiancé, Marissa Collier, Brittany Michelle Ellis and Cody Shane Ellis and fiancé, Arria Wiggins all of Jesup; grandchildren, Kyla Lyn Perry, Makynlee Iris Perry, Jacob Nash, Preston Wells and Leanna Pickens and two brothers, Darian Ellis and wife, Dale and Tommy Ellis all of Hazlehurst.  Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home.
