Walter William Bunch, Jr.

Walter William Bunch, Jr., 64, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.

A resident of Jesup for nearly fifty years, Walter was born on January 22, 1957 in Screven County, Georgia to the late William Walter and Elma White Bunch.  He worked as a truck driver for Mobile Concrete for over thirty years and was a longtime member of the Blanton Grove Church of God where he was a faithful worker in the Food Bank.  Walter loved the Lord and he also loved his church.  Christmas time was his favorite time of the year and he would often dress up as Santa Clause to help do his part in spreading Christmas cheer.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-six years, Sheila Hannah Bunch of Jesup; five children, Melissa Hooper and husband, Jimmy, Reverend Josh May and wife, Kristyn, Patrick Bunch, Jodie May and companion, John Lewis and Justin May and Jessie Manning all of Jesup; grandchildren, Matthew Bunch, Kevin Rodriguez, Amelia Hooper, Brooke Jones, Lance Jones, Ansley Jones, Carrson May, Aniston May, Moriah May and Ella May; great grandson, Isaiah Lewis and siblings, Rufus Bunch and wife, Michelle of Jesup, Mae Baumgardt and husband, Jeff of Surrency, Joe Bunch and wife, Diane , John Bunch of Surrency and Andy Bunch and wife, Melanie of Jesup.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.

Memorial services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Blanton Grove Church of God with Reverend Josh May officiating.
