Trudie Huff, 79, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at home under the care of Hospice of South Georgia with her devoted husband by her side.
Trudie was born on October 9, 1942 on John’s Island, South Carolina to the late George and Zadie Ellis. She resided in Ravenel, South Carolina for many years before relocating to Folkston, Georgia and later to Jesup, Georgia, where she has lived for the past sixteen years. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jesup for many years. In her spare time, Trudie loved sewing, quilting and cooking for her family and friends. In addition to her parents, her two sisters, Zadie Ellen Hoggard and Brenda Ellis, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-six years, Tommy Huff of Jesup, Georgia; two children, Taffie Caddell and Harold “Butch” Caddell, both of Ravenel, South Carolina; two stepsons, Ray Huff and wife, Cindy of Metter and David Huff of Toccoa, Georgia; one stepdaughter, Lynette Smith; two brothers, Roy Ellis of California and George Ellis and wife, Dottie of South Carolina and four grandchildren, Rosemary Huff, Sarah Beth Huff, Emily Huff and Chris Kight. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Reverend Vann Dempsey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Sunset Oaks Cemetery with family and friends serving as active pallbearers.
