Teresa Burks, 61, affectionately known as “Sandy,” passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.

A resident of Hortense for the past seven years and native of Wayne County, Sandy was born on October 2, 1960.  She worked in the hospitality business her entire career, eventually being promoted to manager of several Hotels in both Jesup and Brunswick before retirement several years ago.  She loved her family and was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother.

Her mother, Laotha Westberry Riendeau; brother, James Robert Riendeau and sister-in-law, Tina Nichole Riendeau, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Britni Hite;  father, Arthur “Cigar” Riendeau of Jesup; two brothers, Terry Riendeau and wife, Marsha of Odum and Ricky Riendeau and fiancé, Melonie of Jesup; two grandchildren, Paityn and Rilyn, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.
