Sybil Bryant Harris, 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
A lifelong resident of Wayne County, Sybil was born on May 11, 1958 in Baxley, Georgia to the late, Marcus Bryant and Mary Lou Ellis Bryant. She worked for many years at the Georgia Department of Transportation. In her spare time, Sybil enjoyed shopping and working in her flower garden. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Sybil’s family meant the world to her and she devoted herself to them unselfishly. Family was truly everything to her. In addition to her parents, her nine brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-two years, Roger Harris of Jesup; two daughters, Mary Woods (David) and Kylie Harris (Adnan Alam) all of Jesup; one sister, Marilyn Theaker of Jesup; two brothers, Charles Bryant (Darlene) of Jesup and Kenny Bryant (Toya) of Screven; grandchildren, Courtney Hampton (Brandon) of Jesup, Chris Woods of Jesup, Brittany Carter (Aaron) of Baxley and Tyler Edwards of Jesup and great grandchildren, Ryan Alam, Sameer Alam, Hayden Hampton, Noah Carter, Levi Edwards, J.D. Hampton, Harper Edwards, Sadie Edwards and Maddox Carter. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Rev. Chris Hires officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Lake Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Chris Woods, Brandon Hampton, Hayden Hampton, Kevin Cole, Dakota Bryant and Zack Cole.
