SFC Eric Vernon Staple, Jr.

SSG Eric Vernon Staple, Jr., 35, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022.

Eric was born on June 20, 1987 in Springfield, Massachusetts.  After High School, he enlisted in the United States Army, honorably serving his country for more than fifteen years,  eventually attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.  Eric completed numerous deployments during his tenure with the Army and was stationed at several duty stations at home and abroad including installations in Missouri, Kentucky, North Carolina, Georgia and Italy.  In his spare time, Eric enjoyed computers, playing video games and watching football.  His father, Eric Vernon Staple, Sr. and his brother, Rudolph Staple, both preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of ten years, Martina Staple of Hinesville, Georgia; three children, Noah Aston Staple and Eric Vernon Staple, III both of Hinesville and Paulette Staple of North Carolina; mother, Paulette Staple of Springfield, Massachusetts; sisters, Erica Staple of Springfield, Massachusetts and Emency Staple of Northeast, Massachusetts.  Numerous extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home with full military honors to be rendered by the United States Army.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Interment services will be held privately in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia.
