Rosie Tanner Phelps, 66, affectionately known as “Tanner” passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Wayne Memorial Hospital under the care of Hospice of South Georgia and her loving husband.
A resident of Jesup for nearly fifteen years, Rosie was born on April 23, 1956 to the late Thaddeus and Faye Courson Tanner. She worked as a nurse aide and loved writing poetry and doing arts and crafts in her spare time. Tanner loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Victory Tabernacle. In addition to her parents, her sister, Debbie Hughes, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of thirty years, Chuck Phelps of Jesup; two sisters, Trish Daniell and husband, Mike of Jesup; Jean Large of Baxley and stepson, Charles W. Phelps, Jr. of Tampa, Florida. Numerous extended family members also survive.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Pastor Keith Lairsey officiating.
