Rosa Mae Brown

Rosa Mae Brown, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Hospice of South Georgia in Jesup, Georgia after a brief illness.

Rosa was born on December 13, 1930 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where she lived most of her life before relocating to Indianapolis, Indiana for about twenty years until later in life when she moved to Richmond Hill, Georgia where she has resided for the past several years.  She was a hard worker who devoted her life to housekeeping and childcare.  A Baptist by faith, Rosa demonstrated the love of Jesus Christ as she devoted herself to her family with an unselfish love.  She was strong, yet sensitive, courageous, loyal and was an expert at crossword puzzles.  Her parents, Henry and Agnes Davis Williams; her sister, Bessie Huffman and brother Percy Buie, Jr., all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Andy Brown, Jr., Jeanette Brown, Johnnie Lee Brown, John Allen Brown and Josephine Brown-Jenkins and husband, Eddie all of Fort Meyers, Florida and Robert Brown and wife, Denitra of Jesup, Georgia and Joseph Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, Henry Harrison Buie and wife, Effie of Syracuse, New York and Charlie Buie of Chicago, Illinois and sister, Lillie Buie of Detroit, Michigan.  A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Reverends, Renee and Roger Jordan officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
