Roger Earl Griffin, 70, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Memorial Health University in Savannah after a sudden illness.
A resident of Jesup, Georgia for the past seventeen years and former resident of Brunswick, Georgia and Argo, Alabama, Roger was born in Jasper, Alabama on December 2, 1951 to the late William Earl and Evelyn Woods Griffin. He was a master welder and maintenance man at several different local hotels throughout his career. In his spare time, Roger loved fishing, playing with his grandchildren and was a lifelong Alabama Football fan. In addition to his parents his brothers , Jimmy Harvill and Steve Griffin, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of forty years, Charlotte Mauney of Jesup, Georgia; two children, Bridget James and husband, Al of Cordova, Alabama and Dustin Mauney and wife, Lauren of Jesup, Georgia; siblings, Jeanette Hagood and husband, Bobby of Waynesville, Georgia, Glenda Perry and husband, Tommy of Oakman, Alabama, Ronnie Griffin of Waynesville, Georgia, David Griffin of Mt. Pleasant, Georgia, Raymond Harvill of Sipsey, Alabama and Tonya Watts of Brunswick, Georgia; grandchildren, Mikaylah, Conner, Kohlton, Lincoln, Declan, Oaklyn Hope Alison and Zachary and one great grandchild, Colt. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survie.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
