Robert "Bob" Goracci

Robert Goracci, 87, affectionately known as “Bob,” or “Papa Bob,” passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Hospice of South Georgia after an extended illness.

Bob was born on December 5, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York to the late, Peter Goracci and Nancy Lofrisco Goracci.  He worked as an electronics repairman in the family business, Well Done Radio and T.V., for over fifty years managing two locations, one in Brooklyn and one in Queens.  Bob also lived on Long Island for many years before relocating to Delaware where he resided for sixteen years before moving to Saint Simons Island, Georgia in 2019.  Bob was blessed with an “engineering mind,” and was a true jack of all trades.  He could fix anything and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need.  Bob was a devout Catholic and was always patient, kind and generous.  He always “looked out,” for his neighbors and in return, they loved and respected him.  Bob was funny and loved to laugh and have a good time.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and building antique model cars and boats.    

Survivors include his wife of sixty-eight years, Marie Cestari Goracci of Saint Simons Island; three daughters, Kathy Cafiero and husband, Carmine of Oak Hill, Virginia, Susan Frontino and husband, Paul of Sayville, New York and Patty Henesy and husband, Chris of Saint Simons Island, Georgia; one sister, Olivia Bonura of Massapequa, New York; ten grandchildren, Carmine Cafiero and wife, Stacey, Christina Kohlasch and husband, Chris, Anthony Cafiero and wife, Marissa, Joseph Cafiero and wife, Lindsey, Robert Frontino, Vincent Frontino, Gina Frontino, Timothy Henesy, Shannon Beale and Sean Henesy and six great grandchildren, Knox, Lincoln, Brooks, Louie, Ada and Daisy.  Numerous extended family members also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at St. William Catholic Church, 2300 Frederica Road, Saint Simons Island, GA 31522.
