Rev. Raymond Heston Lowe

Reverend Raymond Heston Lowe, 72, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at home.

A resident of Jesup for the past twelve years, Raymond was born on April 23, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Heston and Puria Krout Lowe.  He spent his early years in New Jersey and was a graduate of Delsea Regional High School in Franklinville, New Jersey before joining the United States Coast Guard where he was part of Operation Deep Freeze on the continent of Antarctica.   Raymond continued his education at Texas Wesleyan University and later was awarded a Master’s Degree from Emory University.  He was a retired minister who had served the Lord his entire life and had most recently been working at the Waycross First Christian Church and Glennville First Christian Church.  In his spare time, Raymond enjoyed watching NHRA Drag Racing.

In addition to his parents his beloved wife of thirty-nine years, Linda Gail Johnson Lowe; two brothers, David Wayne and Edward Grafton Lowe and an infant daughter, Malinda Faith Lowe all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Mariah Charity Lowe and grandchildren, Brady Scott Little, Jr., Miranda Hope Little and Colby Thomas Little all of Jesup and two sisters-in-law, Donna Johnson Barwick of Sumter, South Carolina and Teresa Johnson Schilling of Lawrenceville, Georgia.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
