Ralph Earl Overfield

Ralph Earl Overfield, 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.

Ralph was born on March 7, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late, Kenneth and Bertha Overfield.  He spent his early years in Indianapolis before relocating to Pensacola, Florida where he began to work at a parts store while attending Bible College.  Ralph was a hard worker and soon was relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana where he began to manage a store.  After several years, in 1987, Ralph had the opportunity to move to Jesup where he began working at Al’s Auto Parts.  Later, he owned and operated The Parts Bin in Hinesville until he sold the store and began working in Jesup again at Al’s Auto Parts and Ivey Hutto Golf Cart Sales and Service.  Ralph’s organizational skills were second to none and he devoted himself to his work 100%.  He was a member of the Unity Church of God and a former member of the House of Worship and Ministries.  In his spare time, he loved drag racing his 1964 Ford Fairlane and was a member of the National Hot Rod Association for many years. In addition to his parents, his two daughters, Marsha Overfield and Jennifer L. Kramer, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Danita Overfield of Jesup; three children, Cindy Hively and husband, Michael of Claxton, Bryan K. Overfield and wife, Danielle of Jesup and Ruby J. Sterling and husband, Jim of Jacksonville, Florida; son-in-law, James Kramer of Jesup; six grandchildren, Jessica Kramer, Joshua Humphrey, Danielle Humphrey, Tiffany Ratliff, James Sterling, Stephanie Sterling and Heather Kinlaw and fourteen great grandchildren.  Numerous extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Unity Church of God with Bishop Calvin Anderson officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
