Ralph Valentine Dill, Jr., 86, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville.
A resident of Jesup for the past twenty-six years, Ralph was born on May 18, 1934 in Maine. He was an accomplished musician who could play almost any stringed instrument but his specialty was steel guitar. He played for many years on the Grand Ole Opry and had toured with numerous big time country performers including Charley Pride, Conway Twitty and Tanya Tucker along with many others. Ralph was a hard worker and took other jobs to make ends meet when necessary, painting houses or doing construction. He also painted murals and pictures in his spare time and he truly loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
His parents, Dorothy and Ralph Valentine Dill, Sr. and several of his brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife and soulmate for the past thirty-five years, Jeanette Dill of Jesup; daughter, Debra Dixon and husband, Chris of Jesup, Abby Hinton of Jesup, Margie Williamson of Jesup, Jeanine Brabham and husband, Chris of Ellalbell and Penny Burrage and husband, James of Jesup; and son, Noah Hinton of Jeusp; siblings, Lenwood, Jimmy, Sylvia and Ruthie; twelve grandchildren, multiple great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
