Raegan Leigh Anderson

Raegan Leigh Anderson, 24, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024.

Raegan was born on June 12, 2000 in Hinesville, Georgia.  She was educated in the Liberty County Public School System and graduated with honors from Bradwell Institute in 2018 where she had participated in numerous track and field and cross country events.  After graduation, she attended Kennesaw State University for two years before returning home to Hinesville in 2020.  After returning home, Raegan worked for a short time at Walmart, where she quickly joined the management team, before beginning a career with Liberty County Fire Services, where she advanced to the position of Lieutenant.  She spent countless hours in the gym to stay fit and was an artist who loved to draw and taught herself to play the guitar.  Raegan’s tendency to be a perfectionist drove her to excel in all the things she did.  Her father, Byron Anderson, and two grandfathers, Jim Chandler and Danny Moore, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Jimi and Ches O’Neal of Gum Branch; brother, Aaron Anderson and wife, Bailey of Hinesville; sister, Emily O’Neal of Gum Branch; grandparents, Irene Chandler of Gum Branch, Denis and Bobbi Anderson of Springfield, Missouri and Marge Moore and partner, Rey of Gum Branch; stepbrother, Blake O’Neal and fiancé, Hannah of Davisburg, Michigan and step grandparents, Troy and Janice O’Neal of Gum Branch.  A host of extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Rev. Robert Long officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Joe Deal Family Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jeffrey Chandler, Jeffrey Chandler, Jr., Aaron Anderson, Jeremy Coleman, Mitchell Newton and Ches O’Neal.

Honorary pallbearers will be firefighters and public safety officers.
