Pierce Knot Futch

Pierce Knot Futch, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2023 at home under the care of GHC Hospice and his family.

A native and lifelong resident of Liberty County, Knot was born on December 12, 1947 to the late, Euell and Lucille Ray Futch.  He worked as a sandblaster and painter on large industrial projects for most of his life, eventually becoming project manager and went on to become co-owner of American Sandblasting and Painting in Savannah.   Knot enjoyed the finer things in life.  In his spare time he could be found fishing or at the race track and he had been known to roll a few dice back in his younger days.  In addition to his parents, his two sisters, Mary Grigg and Charlotte Miller and his first wife, Janice J. Futch, all preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his children, Keith Futch of Midway, Kellie Futch of Jacksonville, Florida,  George Richard “Richie” Peterson of Barnwell, South Carolina, Amanda Eunice of Richmond Hill, Lisa Booker of Ridgeland, South Carolina and April Smith of Ridgeland, South Carolina; longtime companion and former wife, Tara Futch of Midway; siblings, William “Bill” Futch and wife, Janice of Hinesville and Joyce Thiel of Hawaii; grandchildren, Gabriel Victory, Aubrey and Aiden Booker and Madison and Dawson Davis.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday September 16, 2023 at Crossroads Holy Church of God, 2470 E.G. Miles Parkway, Hinesville, GA 31313.
