Patsy Manning Obituary

Patsy Jean Manning, 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2020 at home under the care of Hospice of South Georgia surrounded by her loving family.

A lifelong resident of Wayne County, Patsy was born on September 29, 1947.  She worked with the Georgia Forestry Commission for many years keeping watch in fire towers and also worked at Walmart and delivered phone books all before taking a job as a cashier in several different local businesses.  Patsy loved needle point and spent countless hours working on cross stitch projects.  She played bingo regularly with “the bingo girls” and enjoyed caring for her plants and cooking for her family.  Mostly, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. They were truly the light of her life.  Patsy was a long time member of Ritch Missionary Baptist Church.

Her father, Willie Thomas Eubanks and wife, Virginia; her mother, Carolyn Paul Brewer and husband, James; husband, Sanford L. Manning, Sr.; two sons,  Kyle Manning and Shane Manning all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Sanford Manning Jr. of Jesup; sister, Betty Anne Butler and husband, Randall of Midway; and grandchildren, Heath Manning, Heather Rozier and husband, Tony, Lanie Wilson and husband, Mark, Mekayla Manning, Devan Manning, Kyla Manning and Ashton Manning-Souza.  Six great grandchildren and numerous nieces, cousins and other extended family members also survive.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home with Reverend Stanley Todd officiating.

Interment will be in Ritch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Heath Manning, Devan Manning, Tony Rozier, Sanford Manning, Jr., Joey Jackson and Justin Yarbrough.

Honorary Pallbearers will be “the Bingo Girls” and staff of Hospice of South Georgia.
