Patricia Ann Johnson, 59, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at home after an extended illness.
A resident of Jesup for the past sixteen years and former resident of Thomasville, Georgia for most of her life, Patricia was born on January 27, 1963 in Brooks County to the late Eugene and Myrtle Spivey Barnes. She worked several different jobs throughout her life but her heart was at home with her family. Patricia adored her children and later, her grandchildren. She loved giving gifts and often times did without or went into debt to be sure her family had plenty. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading the Bible and watching her beloved Florida Gators on television. In addition to her parents, her husband, Walter Johnson and her sister, Doris Marie Johnson, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Jesse Eugene Crews and wife, Ashley of Jesup; daughter, Jessica Lynn Tanner and husband, John of Jesup; longtime companion, Stanley Crane of Jesup; grandchildren, Devin and Caleb Crews, Justin, Joshua, Michael, Hannah, Destiny and John Tanner, Jr. and Isabella and Logan Root; siblings, Tony Barnes of Moultrie, Georgia, Clyde Barnes and wife, Nadine of Tallahassee, Florida, Tammy Hogan and husband, Billy of Panama City, Florida, Elizabeth Wood of Thomasville, Georgia, Marti Spring and companion, Joe Pearson of Jackson, Mississippi and Doyle Barnes and wife, Ann of Cairo, Georgia. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Pastor Michael Wilder officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
