Michael Prime Obituary

Michael William Prime, 46, died October 17, 2020, in his home near Jesup, Georgia after a six-month battle with esophageal cancer. A service will be held at Camden Baptist Church in Camden, Alabama on Saturday, October 24 at 11:00am.

Mike was born on May 24, 1974, in Chatham, Ontario, Canada to Bill and Carol Prime. He married Ann H. Woodson on December 30, 1995. Over their 24 years of marriage they lived in Vancouver, BC, Columbia, SC, Camden, AL, and Jesup, GA. Mike was the father of one daughter, Eden Joyce Prime, who he taught to think critically, write thoughtfully, and act justly. Mike’s work spans a vast array of areas; most recently he worked as the manager of IFCO Bareroot Seedlings in Jesup, GA. He was known for his humor, generosity, creativity, and faith in God. Mike was a skilled woodworker and artist, creating beautiful furniture and artwork from salvaged materials. His work has been featured by Black Belt Cultural Arts Center and published in Black Belt Artist Project. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, canoeing, cooking, hunting, traveling, and teaching people about the goodness and grace of God. Mike pursued excellence in all he did and had a passion for investing in the lives of others. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by his wife Ann Woodson Prime of Jesup, GA; daughter Eden Joyce Prime of Columbia, SC; parents Bill and Carol Prime of Chatham, Ontario; brother Gary Prime of Chatham, Ontario (Cynthia); sister Lisa Geeting (Marc) of Winston-Salem, NC; nephew Kevin Geeting (Emily) of Chatham, Ontario; and nephew Nathan Geeting (Hope) of Durham, NC; as well as two nieces.
