McKee Louise Collins Brannen Wells, 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Hospice of South Georgia surrounded by her loving family.
A native and lifelong resident of Wayne County, McKee was born on April 27, 1940 to the late Stacy John Collins and Alma Lou Johnson Collins. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her beloved family as she worked tirelessly to make their house a home. In her spare time she enjoyed decorating, gardening and she was always “dressed to impress” when she went anywhere. In addition to her parents, her husband, Winton Kenneth Brannen, three sons, Bill, Brad and Wendell Brannen and four sisters, Melissa Townsend, Linda Sue Collins, Gina Collins and Hazel DeBruise, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Kenny Brannen and wife, Teresa of Jesup; daughter, Angie Brannen Beard of Jesup and three brothers, John Collins of Jesup, Jack Collins and wife, Betty of Dawson, Georgia and Mallard Collins and wife, Bonnie of Jesup. Fifteen grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2024 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Pastor Matt Williams officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery
Active pallbearers will be Shannon Hodges, Jerry Alan Hodges, D.J. Bolin, Austin Massey, Trinity St. Thomas and Ryan Wilkerson.
