Mary Sutton Davis

Mary Sutton Davis, 60, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at home after an extended illness.

A resident of Jesup for most of her life, Mary was born on May 6, 1964 to the late, Harold James Sutton and Helena Adams Sutton.  She was compassionate and caring in nature which led her into a  career in nursing where she worked at several local nursing homes in Jesup including Jesup Health and Rehabilitation, Harborview Health and Altamaha Healthcare Center and also in Kentucky while living there for several years.  She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic church and she enjoyed reading and writing in her spare time.  Mary had a gentle, sweet spirit and was always caring for others.  In addition to her parents, her nephew, Harold James Sutton, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her two sons, Raymond Davis and wife, Marsela of Columbia, Tennessee and Patrick Davis of Jesup; two brothers, George “Hank” Sutton and wife, Tina of Ludowici and Steven Sutton and wife, Tracey of Screven; one sister, Dora Sutton of Jesup and two grandchildren, Cicilia Ever Davis and Hunter Alan Baker.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

Memorial services will be private.
