Marian Sue Chavis, 73, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Memorial Health University in Savannah.
A resident of Jesup for over twenty-five years, Sue was born on December 7, 1946 in Tarrytown, Georgia to the late Thomas and Eva Cauley Edge. She was a homemaker by trade who kept an immaculate house and was a member of the Unity Church of God although she had been attending most recently at Jesup Church of God. Sue loved music and watching wrestling on television in her spare time but she loved spending time with her family more than anything else, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
In addition to her parents, six of her brothers and sisters, Gladys Brantley, Floyd Edge, Hilda Mae Ward, Hillary Bill Edge, Elijah Edge and Elisha Edge, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Teri and David Warnock of Jesup; son, Tommy Chavis of Jesup; one sister, Walteen Carter of Odum; two brothers, Walter Thomas Edge and wife Mary Ann of Kibbee, Georgia and Eddie Edge of Jesup; grandchildren, Kristopher Warnock and wife, Meagan of Rincon, Dakota Warnock and fiancée, Kattie Perkins, Zeke Chavis, Zoa Chavis, Isaiah Chavis, MeKylee Warnock and Zeathan Anderson all of Jesup; great grandchildren, Layla Warnock and Kristopher Warnock, Jr and step grandchildren, Kristina Ochsenbein and Travis Minick.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in jesup.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Reverend Kenny Edge officiating.
Interment will be held privately at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Vidalia, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to help the family with funeral expenses.
