Mae Starling

Mae Starling, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.

A resident of Jesup for most of her life and former resident of Camden County, Mae was born on October 8, 1941 in Jesup to the late, James Randell and Sarah Ann Westberry Wilson.  She worked in several different jobs throughout her life but mainly stayed home and cared for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her spare time, Mae enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, going to yard sales and occasionally playing slot machines.  In addition to her parents, her husband, Johnny Starling, children, Myrtice Brown and husband, Moses and Joey Howard; brother, Robert Wilson, Sr., sisters, Hazel Mosley, Vicky Westberry and Mildred Correy and great grandson, Kaden Jones, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughters,  Sarah Howard and Deanna Miller both of Jesup, sons, Tommy Howard and wife, Teresa of Augusta, Elbert Davis and fiancé, Elizabeth Hickox of Woodbine, brother, Roy Wilson of Ludowici; sister, Linda Dixon and husband, Shorty of Jesup; grandchildren, Amanda McGuire and husband, Josh, Alissa Howard, Shannon Martin, Travis Martin, Dezz Mathis, Katie Mauney, Josephine Howard, Donnitta Peterson and husband, Donald, Michelle Williams, Katrina Williams, Susan Smith, Kendra Howard, Shirley Jones, Jabrarie Jones, Tangie Brown, Aleesha Howard, Adriane Llcken and husband, Thomas and David Bass all of Jesup.  A host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Rev. James Carter officiating. 

Interment will follow in Sunset Oaks Memorials.

Grandsons and Great Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
