Linda Wadkins Corlette

Linda Wadkins Corlette, 78, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022 at her daughter’s home under the care of Hospice of the Golden Isles.

A resident of Darien for over fifty-eight years, Linda was born on November 10, 1943 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late J.T. Wadkins and Minnie Burrows Wadkins.  She was a longtime member of the Northside Baptist Church in Darien where she taught Sunday School for many years.  Linda was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family, growing and making flower arrangements, sewing and painting and drawing pictures in her spare time.  In addition to her parents, her husband, John Robert Corlette, Sr.; son, Allen Satterfield; brothers, Jim, Don, Bobby, Harris, Tommy and Warren Richard Wadkins and sisters, Betty Hubbard, Charlene Moore and Kathy Ray, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Vivian Lynn of Darien, Linda “Tiny” Harris of Townsend and Junior Corlette of Darien; siblings, Helen Connolly and husband, Huey of Charleston, South Carolina, Joyce Wadkins of Alabama, Ron Wadkins and wife, Linda of New York and Mark Wadkins and wife, Marilyn of Washington and grandchildren, Heather Wells and husband, Joseph of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, Ray Harris of Townsend, Courtney Harris and husband, Patrick of Tifton and Cody Lynn of Wauseon, Ohio.  A host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive. 

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.

Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Darien.
