Kathi E. Turner, 59, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.
A native and lifelong resident of Jesup, Kathi was born on July 20, 1960. She worked as a cook for many years in several different restaurants including BJ’s BBQ and Marilyn’s Fried Chicken. In her spare time, Kathi enjoyed fishing and gardening and she and her husband took great pride in their yard, working countless hours planting flowers and keeping things nice. Kathi will be remembered fondly by her family and friends for her kind hearted, selfless nature and how she loved “little” children and adored the time she spent with them.
Her grandparents, Ralph and Vera Smith and Annie and Red Wiggins; her sister, Melinda Wiggins and her grandson, Dustin Gelinas all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Donnie Turner of Jesup; daughter, Lisa Wells and companion, Benny Gelinas of Jesup; two sons, Ricky and Billy Wells both of Jesup; mother, Betty Jean Montgomery of Jesup; father, James Wells; stepfather, Donald Wiggins of Jesup; brother, Tony Wiggins of Lynchburg, VA, two sisters, Cindy Gillis and husband, Ray of Santa Anna, TX and India Smith and husband, Steve Immke of Champaign, IL; grandchildren, Taylor Lott, Rylee Wells, Parker Wells and Preston Wells and great grandson, Dustin Gelinas, II. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
Memorial services will be held at a later date due to health concerns over the spread of the human coronavirus. Service times will be announced by the funeral home when they become available.
