Joseph Leroy Wright, Jr.

Joseph Leroy Wright, Jr., 64, affectionately known by most people as Joe, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at home.

Joe was born on March 23, 1957 in Jesup.  He was very active in sports during his younger years, playing baseball and football in high school where he had the nickname “Juice.”  Joe worked for many years as an X-Ray Technician at American Welding and Tank and dabbled in computers in his spare time, even building a computer from the ground up by himself once.  He loved reading and he spent hours in his personal library reading romance, fantasy and comic books.  His father, Joseph Leroy Wright, Sr.; his longtime friend and companion, Robyn and his brother-in-law, Earl all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his mother, Lillian Wright; nephew and longtime caregiver, Robert Wright both of Jesup; siblings, Thomas Wright and wife Patti of Jesup, Howard Wright of Jesup, Drucilla Kasperian and husband, Timmy of Ludowici, Judith Ann Montover of Jesup and Leila Johnson and husband, Charles of Jesup.  Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
