John Dale Usher

John Dale Usher, 66, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at his home in Hortense with his beloved dog, Little Girl, by his side. He was born on October 30, 1959 in Brunswick, Georgia to the late Sidney Usher Jr. and Cyndia Alice Usher and lived in Georgia the majority of his life.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Usher and Cyndia Alice (Homes) Usher; and by his sister, Rosie Braisel (Roy).

John is survived by his estranged wife, Cheryl Ruggles; children, Katrina Smith (Jody), Jessica Torres (Edgar), Amy Walker (Freddie), and Sandra Usher; and a multitude of grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Sidney Usher; sister, Yvonne Taylor (Rodney); and number of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The Family will receive friends and family for a memorial visitation on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Howard and Jones Funeral Home in Jesup. John's remains will be laid to rest at the foot of his parents gravesite at Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick, Georgia.
