Joey Oliver, 40, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
A resident of Jesup for the past six years and former longtime resident of Lakeland, Florida, Joey was born on May 28, 1981 in Alabama to the late Michael Joe and Julie Anne Oliver. He was a true “jack of all trades,” who had done a little bit of everything in his life. He managed several restaurants during his career and had been working in sales for Eicher’s Pro Vinyl most recently. Joey loved adding to his collection of antiques and shopping for deals and interesting finds in pawn shops. He was well acquainted with the smell of a bargain at second hand stores and he was known to find hidden treasures in the Goodwill on a regular basis. The amount of off the wall knowledge on random subjects he possessed kept things interesting as did his love for a good practical joke. Joey enjoyed a light hearted lifestyle and making people laugh was one of his greatest sources of joy. He was loving, caring and passionate and cherished the time he spent with his beloved wife and children as they were the center of his world.
Survivors include his wife, Trish Eicher Oliver of Jesup; six children, Tyler Oliver and wife, Dajah of Jesup and Jacob, Matthew, Lilleigh, Dennis and Joslyn Oliver also all of Jesup; one brother, Adam Oliver of Lakeland, Florida; one sister, Elizabeth Salmon of Russellville, Alabama; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sharon and Lester Eicher of Jesup; sister-in-law, Tiffany Eicher and brother-in-law, Codey Eicher. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Turning Point Worship Center with Pastor Justin Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the church.
