Joe Tyson, Jr.

Joe Tyson, Jr., 78, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah after a lengthy illness.

Joe was born on August 3, 1944 in Jesup, Georgia to the late Joe Tyson, Sr. and Lonie Mae Manning Tyson.  He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends and family.  In addition to his parents, his brother, Jack Tyson, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sisters, Sarah Lee McLain of Jesup and Lollie Manning of Odum.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.

Graveside funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Manningtown Cemetery with Rev. Tim Fulmore officiating.

Pallbearers will be family members.
