Joan E. (Pierce) Wheeler

Joan E. Wheeler (Pierce) was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She went home to Jesus on August 27,2024 at the age of 87.

She was born to the late C. Merton and Dorotha Pierce on July 9, 1937, in Canton PA.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Jeff.  She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years Larry C. Wheeler of Jesup GA, her children Debbie (Jim) Hepler of Anna Maria FL, Danny (Kyong)Wheeler of Jesup GA, and Kyle (Beth) of Lynn MA.  Her grandchildren Heather, Heidy, Katrina, Jeffrey, Shawn, Dustin, Kate, Jason, and several great-grandchildren; her brother Phil (Beth), sisters Jan (Harold), Karen (Skip) and her nieces and nephews.  She was also predeceased by her sister Marilyn and brother Norman.

Joan and Larry were married in 1956 and raised their four children in Cherry Flats PA.  Joan was an active member in Eastern Star, her church, and her community.  Joan was a gracious donor to many organizations. She was the friend everyone could count on. 

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.  Thank you for always loving us, you will forever be in our hearts.

Her family would like to thank everyone for their prayers.  A special thank you to Hospice of South Georgia and all her nurses and caregivers.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a later day in Pennsylvania.
