Jasper LaDon Crawford

Jasper LaDon “Don” Crawford, 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Hospice of South Georgia surrounded by his loving family.

A resident of Wayne County for most of his life, Jasper was born on April 14, 1953 in Waycross to the late Jasper J. and Aline Lee Crawford.  He worked over forty years with Interstate Paper in Riceboro before retirement.  Don was an avid outdoorsman who spent countless hours cutting wood on his saw mill, growing vegetables in his garden and coon hunting, however, his favorite times were spent with the ones he loved the most, his family.  In addition to his parents, his infant granddaughter, Skylar Alexis Knowles, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of thirty years, Diane Harless Crawford of Jesup; children, LaDon Jasper Crawford and wife, Celina, Rebecca Bailey and husband, Alex, Jessica Jones and husband, Shane, Kristin Deegan and former husband, Mike and Haley Knowles all of Jesup; two brothers, Delane Crawford and wife, Eva and Anthony Crawford and wife, Lydia all of Jesup; sister, Cindy Lebkucher and husband, A.G. of Calhoun, Georgia and grandchildren, Kayla Jarrard, Kasey Crawford, Spencer Turner, Aiyana McKee, Chanz Roland, Rena Roland, Mallory Knowles, Dentley Jones, Olivia Deegan, Hudson Deegan, Jonas Ritzenthaler and Joshua Walker.  One great grandson, Sawyer Roland, also survives along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home with Reverend Elliott Aspinwall officiating.

Interment will follow in Odum City Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Brian Crawford, Geoffrey Crawford, Shane Jones, Kasey Crawford, Spencer Turner and Mike Deegan.
