Jan Kellie Beasley, 63, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at home.
Jan was born on November 8, 1962 in Snellville, Georgia and spent her early years in Hartwell. After High School she received a Bachelor’s Degree from Emmanuel University and was certified as a middle school teacher. After a few years teaching in the Atlanta area, she transferred to Jesup where she taught art classes in the Wayne and Long County School Systems for many years. The “artistic” one in the family, she had her and her Dad’s home all decked out for the upcoming holidays and was looking forward to Christmas with her family. Jan also loved “thrifting” and spending time with her two grandchildren, Peyton and Cooper. She attended church at the First United Methodist Church of Jesup and was a best friend to many. She was loving, kind and had a nurturing spirit. Her mother, Dorothy Locke Beasley and her infant sister, Lynn Beasley, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Hailie Priester and husband, Jason of Jesup; father, John Beasley of Jesup; two sisters, Debra Beasley and husband, John Kading of Loveland Colorado and Claire Scallions and husband, Kevin of Marietta, Georgia; two grandchildren, Peyton and Cooper Clary; four step grandchildren, Dylan, Konner, Carlee and Jaycee Rae Priester and two nephews, Daniel Kading of Fort Collins, Colorado and Brant Whaley of Spokane, Washington.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Reverends. Rebecca and Garth Duke-Barton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
