Jacqueline Simms

Jacqueline Simms, 56, affectionately known by her family and friends as “Jackie or Jack,” passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at home under the care of GHC Hospice and her loving family.

A resident of Jesup for the past several years and native and longtime resident of Sanford, Florida, Jackie was born on April 5, 1965 to the late Johnnie B. and Christine Bentley Simms.  She worked hard in her life and was always a loving and devoted mother who was willing to share her wisdom with her family members. 

In addition to her parents, her siblings, Bobby Johnson, Loyal Barr, Jimmy Bailey, Kensey Sims and Terry Sims, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Keilah Williams and husband, John Suggs, Kerry Simms, Brandon Simms and wife, Vonetta, Leon Simms and wife, Jalisa, Maurio Simms, Jamie Bentley and wife, Angela and Terry Simms and siblings, Areatha Barr and Johneva Sims.  Her goddaughter, Brionnah King, thirty-eight grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

A celebration of life will be held in Douglas at her daughter’s residence beginning at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021.

Jackie’s final prayer for her family and friends…  Do not cry for me! Rejoice for me! I’m no longer in pain and I have gained not only my wings but also a brand new body.  To my children, even though I’m gone physically, spiritually, I’m still with you all.  Remember everything I’ve instilled in you all… Love Mom
