Ida Jeffords Jennings, 75, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A resident of Jesup for the past thirty-eight years and former resident of Fort Mill and Abbeville, South Carolina, Ida was born on September 7, 1945 in Dovesville, South Carolina to the late, Robert and Vinnie Jeffords. She spent her early years there and was educated in the Darlington County School System. She worked as a seamstress for a while in her younger years before taking a job selling insurance with Liberty National Life Insurance Company, from which she would retire after many years of sales in Baxley, Waycross and Jesup. Ida enjoyed her work and received numerous awards and bonuses over the years for her outstanding performance. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, her brothers, Bubba and Billy and her sister, Ruth all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of forty years, Edwin G. Jennings, III of Jesup; daughter, Melissa Hall and husband, Bossy of Jesup; stepson, Kevin Edwin Jennings of Elberton, GA; sister, Ann Ard of Hartsville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Lee Hall and fiancé, Beth and Brittany Jennings; three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive.
