Helen Linda (Griffis) Dowless

Helen Linda Griffis Dowless, 75, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 in Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

A resident of Brunswick for over fifty years, Helen was born on June 9, 1946 in Jesup, Georgia to the late William and Ruth Landon Griffis.  She worked for nearly twenty years at the Homestyle Laundry in Brunswick and loved shopping in her spare time.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Harrison Dowless; brother, Jimmy Griffis and nephew, John David Ginn, III all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her two daughters, Tina Stubbs and Teresa Dowless both of Brunswick; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and John Ginn; nephews, Jason Ginn of Jesup; great niece, Jadalynn Ginn of Jesup and great nephew, Jonathan Ginn of Jesup.  Numerous cousins and extended family members also survive.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick with Reverend Donald Pittman officiating.   The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the services at the cemetery.
