Harvey Vargas, Jr.

Harvey Vargas Jr. 41, passed away on Friday. May 6, 2022 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A resident of Allenhurst and Ludowici GA for the past five years and former resident of Homestead, Florida. Harvey was born on June 17, 1980 in Miami, Florida. He worked for over twenty years with Wal-Mart where he was promoted to the position of store manager.  He loved his community and loved “giving back” by volunteering his time to help coach children’s recreational sports.  Harvey was kind, loving and patient. He enjoyed good food and good times and was always down to Earth and the life of the party. His sarcasm and humor made him a pleasure to be around as he always had a joke or laugh for everyone.  Harvey loved football and was a lifelong fan of the Miami Hurricanes. His daughter, Rihanna Vargas, preceded him in death.

He is survived by the love of his life, whom he adored and cared for the past ten years, Guadalupe Maria Ornelas of Ludowici, Georgia and three children, Harvey Vargas III of Homestead, Florida, Natalie Vargas of Homestead, Florida and Brandon Castillo of Ludowici, Georgia, father and mother, Harvey and Maria Vargas of Homestead, Florida and his sister Lissette Vargas of Homestead, Florida and his canine companions, Brooke, Homer and Fatima and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup, Georgia.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. 

Interment will follow in Sunset Oaks Memorials.

Harvey will be surely missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his loving wife. In honor of his love for the Hurricanes, we proudly proclaim ”Go Canes!!!” one last time for Harvey.
