Harold Lamar Strickland, 56, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at home under the care of Hospice of South Georgia, Inc.
A resident of Jesup for over thirty-five years, Lamar was born June 3, 1965 to the late Harold and Jewel May Strickland. He was a truck driver by trade who had worked for Hendrix Hauling most recently hauling wood chips. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Brenda Strickland of Jesup; four children, Maelyn Riddle and husband, John, Harold Strickland and fiance, Kaitlyn Surrency, Marla Strickland and Cory Strickland all of Jesup; sisters, Alice Stoddard and husband, John of Jesup, Anna Meria Minton and husband, Steve of Somerset, KY and Tammy Nash and husband, Tony of Jesup and four grandchildren, Carlie, John, Ashton and Josie. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Bishop Art Stoddard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
