Franklin Anderson Obituary

Franklin Anderson, 83, affectionately known by his family and friends as Frank or Jenkie, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 in Appling Healthcare System.

Frank was born on November 6, 1932 in Odum to the late Tillman and Mamie Aspinwall Anderson. He worked as an instrument mechanic at ITT Rayonier for over forty years and was an active member of the United Steel Workers Local 787. He attended church at First Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed water skiing with his family in his younger years. Frank was a devoted fan of Neil Diamond and enjoyed reading and tinkering with computers in his spare time. In addition to his parents, his wife, Barbara Ann Sapp; his sister, Edwina Davis, brother, Lenox Anderson and his sister, Robbie Howard preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sonia and Terry Kirkland of Guyton; granddaughter, Hayden Stanford of Guyton; siblings and their spouses, James and Chris Anderson of Mebane, NC, Joanna and George Dart of Jesup, Turner and Shirley Anderson of Jesup and Betty Grace and Joe Rossman of Dublin, GA; brother-in-law, Albert Howard and wife, Nan of Jesup, sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Anderson of Jesup and his special companion, Martha Wildes of Jesup. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Reverend Dale McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
