Faye Dent Obituary

Trudy Faye Dent, 82, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025 while under the care of Georgia Hospice Care and Jesup Health and Rehab. She was born in Madray Springs, Georgia, to the late Holland and Emmalene Madray.

Faye retired from West Clock Company. She and her beloved husband, Theron, lived in several states throughout their life together before ultimately returning home to Wayne County. Many cherished memories were made during their travels, especially during the summers when nieces and nephews spent time with Faye and Theron. Known affectionately to most as Aunt Faye, she had a deep love for crocheting. If she knew you—and liked you—you likely own one of her beautiful handmade creations, each one a treasured keepsake.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff and nurses at Georgia Hospice Care and Jesup Health and Rehab for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Faye. They are especially grateful to Justin, Wanda, Herschell, Ridge, and all who ensured she was always surrounded by love, comfort, and support. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

Faye is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Theron Dent; her parents; two sisters, Janice Madray and Sandy Henderson; and two brothers, Charles Madray and Richard Madray. She is survived by her sister, Bobbie Padgett; brother-in-law Glenn Henderson; nieces Debbie (Andy) Lettow, Kellie (Cam) Williams, Paige (David) Corsetti, and Holly Henderson; and nephew David (Buffie) Padgett. She is also survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom she adored.

No remembrance of Faye would be complete without mentioning Baby Girl, who never left her side. Their bond was unwavering—Baby Girl loved Faye deeply, and Faye loved her just the same.

Funeral services will be held at Altamaha Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025 with Reverend Stanley Todd officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.

Interment will follow immediately in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Tyler Padgett, Justin Evors, Terry Martin, Herschell Hires, Chad Dent and Ridge Shefka. Honorary pallbearers will be Wanda Hayes and the staff of Georgia Hospice Care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Altamaha Baptist Church, 6622 Oglethorpe Road, Jesup, GA 31545.
