Debra Ann Strickland, 64, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family under the care of Hospice of South Georgia, Inc.

A native and lifelong resident of Jesup, Debra was born on December 5, 1956 to the late Bobby and Anna Jane Smith Brooker.  She worked more than twenty years at McDonald's in the drive thru and then took a job with Dixie Outfitters inspecting prints for t-shirts where she worked twenty more years before retirement.  Debra enjoyed reading, planting a garden, cooking and spending time with her beloved family, including her fur babies. 

Survivors include her husband of forty-four years, Shannon Strickland; daughter, Bobbie Strickland; granddaughter, Gabbie Hammond and special nieces that were like daughters,  April Sawyer and husband, Bryant and Bracee Ellington and husband, David all of Jesup.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
