David Lee Smith

David Lee Smith, 60, passed away on April 11, 2022 at Memorial Health University in Savannah.

A resident of Jesup for the past seventeen years, David was born on March 8, 1962 in Greenville, GA to the late Walter Crescent and Peggy Smith.  He worked several different odd jobs during his lifetime including his most recent at EnMarket.  In his spare time, David enjoyed eating, especially chocolate, and watching television.  He was a big hearted and funny man who did a lot to help other people when he could.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-six years, Donna Smith of Jesup; five children, Christina, Jacob, Dante, Jasmine and Charisma; two sisters, Rebecca Whitener of Vila Rica, Georgia and Valerie Strickland and husband, Jimmy of Temple, Georgia; one brother, Wesley Whitener of Vila Rica, Georgia and mother-in-law, Marilyn Washburn and husband, Arnold of Jesup.  Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Sunset Oaks Memorials.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the cemetery.
