David R. Lang, 63, affectionately known as, “Super D” on the C.B. Radio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at home under the care of Hospice of South Georgia surrounded by his loving family.
A resident of Jesup for the past twenty-eight years and former resident of Brooksville, Florida, David was born on November 26, 1960 in Tampa, Florida. He worked as a log truck driver his entire career and in his spare time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and going to church at Turning Point Worship Center where he volunteered as a greeter and was known as the “Candy Man,”. He never met a stranger and was always fun to be around. His father, David Lang; sister, Julee Rabion and daughter, LeeAnn Lang, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his three children, Angela Lang and Brandy Lang both of Jesup and Kena Simmons and husband, Dallas of Vidalia; mother, Joyce Lovering of Madray Springs; six grandchildren, Devon Simmons, Phoenix Tippins, London Tippins, Peanut Tippins, Krista Cantwell and Casey Cantwell and caretaker and cousin, Sandy Thomson. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members including Erin Rabion, Lindsey Kidwell and Haylee Chapman also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Turning Point Worship Center with Pastor Justin Mitchell officiating.
