Danny Johnson

Danny Johnson, 69, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Memorial Health University in Savannah.

A native and lifelong resident of Wayne County, Danny was born on November 13, 1955 to the late Estell and Ellen Johnson.  He worked as a truck driver for most of his life and was a lifelong drag racing enthusiast.  Danny was known for his ability to work on race car engines and he always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the race track.  When he wasn’t working or racing, he tinkered with old cars and stayed busy working on projects around the house.  In addition to his parents, his wife, Diane Easterling Johnson and his two brothers, Jimmy and Ronnie Garrett and his sister, Jannell Dover, all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his two sons, Danny Johnson, Jr. of Jesup and Jamie Johnson and wife, Brittany of Houma, Louisiana: one sister, Ann Lee and husband, Edsel of Sylvania and three grandchildren, Bradden, Elaina and Emma Johnson and Mckenlie Dupre.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

Services will be private.
