Crystal Ann Rothbauer, 84, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia.
A resident of Hinesville, Georgia for the past fourteen years, Crystal was born on August 1, 1938 in St. Albans, West Virginia to the late, Forest and Dorothy Austin Stutler. She spent her early years there and was a graduate of St. Albans High School. Crystal moved around quite frequently in her younger years as part of a military family. She lived in Panama for several years before moving to Hinesville, Georgia for the first time, then to Texarkana, Texas and Louisville, Kentucky, finally returning to Hinesville, Georgia in 2008 where she settled in permanently. She worked as a secretary for many years at the NCO Club eventually working her way up to a bookkeeper in the Central Accounting Office, later working for the Pepsi Corporation from which she retired many years ago. Crystal loved Elvis, Jeff Gordon, the Denver Broncos, the Dallas Cowboys and watching Days of Our Lives and old western movies on television. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, her son, Tom Rothbauer; granddaughter, Paula Marie Leath and her brother, Ray Stutler, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her four children, Teresa Romero and husband, Edwin of Hinesville, Georgia, Tina Leath of Strawn, Texas, Tammy Schrader of Ludowici, Georgia and Tony Rothbauer of Burlington, Colorado; grandchildren, Taylor Rothbauer, Anthony and Roberto Romero, Alejandro Romero and his wife, Candace, Ashley Schrader and Aurora, Savannah and Tonya Rothbauer; great grandchildren, Deanna, Koda, Kanyan, Kitka, Elijah, Adrian, Julian, Harper and Rylee and lifelong friend and former spouse, Eugene T. Rothbauer of Ludowici, Georgia. Numerous extended family members also survive.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Rev. Chris Howard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
