Clinton Hartmann Obituary

Clinton Carver Hartmann, 72, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Kindred Hospital in Melbourne, Florida.

Clint was born on March 9, 1949 in Jesup, Georgia to the late Clarence Clinton Hartmann, Jr “Billy”, and Annie Stewart Carver Hartmann.  He spent his early years in Jesup before moving to Cocoa, Florida with his family where he was educated in the Brevard Public School System eventually graduating from Cocoa High School in 1967.  Clint pursued higher education and was recipient of a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Florida and later a Master of Business Administration from Rollins College.   After graduation, Clint’s first job was with Disney in Orlando.  He relocated his family several times over the years as was necessary to advance his career, eventually getting into Credit Union management while living in Miami, Florida.  After his children were off to college, Clint moved to Houston, Texas where he served as CEO of Houston, Texas Fire Fighters Federal Credit Union for over twelve years before his retirement in 2016.

Clint loved children and always supported programs that helped children.  He coached baseball teams and was president of the Little League Association in Orlando, Florida.  When Clint was Chairman of the Board of Houston Chapter of Credit Unions, he spearheaded various fundraising events for the Children’s Charities Program which benefited all of the Houston area campuses of the Texas Children’s Hospital.  He was a lifelong Methodist and member of Spring of Life United Methodist Church in Orlando, Florida.  In his later years, Clint enjoyed traveling and playing golf and he had really enjoyed playing tennis in his younger years. 

Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Anne Edrington Hartmann of Orlando, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Keri Jean and Thomas Garland of Orlando, Florida and their children, Katherine, Elizabeth and Joshua; son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Cynthia Hartmann of Pearland, Texas and their children, Liam and Penelope; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Christopher and Susan Hartmann of Land O’ Lakes, Florida and Craig and Anne Hartmann of Cocoa Beach, Florida.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup, Georgia.

Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Middleton Memorial Cemetery in Long County.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Clint’s honor to Texas Children’s Hospital, Office of Philanthropy, P.O. Box 300630, Houston, TX 77230-0630.

Clint had a big heart and a determined spirit.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
