Brandi McMillan Young, 41, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A resident of Jesup for the past eighteen years, Brandi was born on November 7, 1983 in Waycross. She spent her early years in Waycross before relocating to Hinesville in the early nineties where she lived until moving to Jesup. Brandi was known for her infectious smile and kind heart but was also a person who you didn’t want to mess with. Her natural tendency was to fight for the people she loved and she was relentless in this fight. Brandi worked at Georgia State Prison for several years before taking up a career in healthcare, where she worked for Home Health many years. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved family and her fur babies, Remi, the dog and her cats, Smokey, Baby Girl and Jolene. Her paternal grandparents, Jimmy and Jean McMillan and her maternal grandparents, Brenda Joiner and Bobby Dale Joiner, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Corey Young of Jesup; daughter, Victoria MacKenzie McMillan, “Toot,” of Jesup; mother, Rhonda Futch of Statesboro; father, Julian McMillan and wife, Robin of Waycross; three brothers, Blake McMillan and wife Dusty of Kingsland, Dylan Futch and significant other, Crystal of Glennville and Pacey McMillan and wife, Candler of Waycross and one sister, Jenny McMillan of Waycross. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive including Brookelyn, Arya and Penelope Futch, Ivey Reeves, Taylor Edwards, Shawn Gale, Cale Reeves and Lindsay and Brayden Dasher, who were all a part of her daily life.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Rev. Dale Bange officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the services.
