Bobby Franklin Williford, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Harborview Health and Rehabilitation in Jesup.
Bobby was born on January 12, 1937 in Oak Park, Georgia to the late, Rufus and Annie Mae Lumley Williford. After graduation from Oak Park High School, Bobby relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where he lived for eighteen years working in the printing industry. After that he moved back to Georgia, this time to Jesup, following the printing trade where he worked until retirement at the age of sixty-two. Not one to sit around, Bobby quickly found another job after retirement working as a maintenance supervisor at Harborview Health and Rehabilitation where he also served as chaplain for many years. He also served on the Chaplain’s Board at the Wayne Memorial Hospital and was a long time member of Crossroads Church of God. In addition to his parents, his wives, Mary Peebles Williford and Jackie Thornton Williford and his siblings; R.L. Williford, Otis Williford, Ottis Williford, Geneva Williford Waters, Ruth Williford Hall, Aubrey Williford, Rudolph Williford, Donald Williford, Margrette Williford and an infant sister, Carolyn Williford all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Mark Williford of Augusta; brother, Ray Williford and wife, Faye of Jacksonville, Florida; step son, Jonathan Hiers and wife, Kelly of Forsyth, GA; step daughter, Jessica Freeman and husband, Kevin of Luverne, AL; brother-in -law, Ralph Thornton and wife, Diane of Hoboken; grandchildren, Tyler Hiers and wife, Taylor, Brenley Hiers, Blossom Hiers, Desiree Bryant and husband, Cory, Keagan Phillips, Seryna Phillips, Kevin Freeman and Kylem Freeman and great grandchildren, Kari, Luna Blisselyn, Ryles and Hadley. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup with Pastor Brandon Stone officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
