Benjamin Addison Strickland, 34, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026.
A lifelong resident of Wayne and McIntosh Counties, Ben was born on May 24, 1991 in Brunswick. Throughout his life, he worked in construction, logging and auto mechanics. In his spare time, Ben enjoyed fishing and hog hunting. He was strong willed and stubborn yet always willing to help a friend in need. Ben had a determined spirit, when he set his mind to something, he made sure it got done. His brother, Brandon Hutcheson; paternal grandparents who raised him for most of his life, Raymond Lee Strickland and Mary C. Strickland; and paternal great grandparents, Raymond Laverne Strickland and Bertie Young, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Eligh and Grayson Strickland and Addison Strickland; father, Pete Strickland and wife, Julie of Darien; mother, Tammy Ginn and husband, Jason of Jesup; siblings, Cheyenne Wyman and husband, Bret of Jesup, Riley Strickland and wife, Jackie of Jesup; maternal grandmother, Judy Thomas and husband, Billy of Darien; step siblings, Russell Gore and wife, Allison, Hank Rowe, Jr. and wife, Ashley, Jessica Joseph and husband, Chan and Josh Rowe and companion, Tina all of Darien; paternal step grandmother who also played a big part in his upbringing, Linda Strickland of Darien; and aunts and uncles, Robby Strickland and wife, Emily of Brunswick, Leon Strickland and wife, Alisha of Darien, Christina Woodrow and husband, Kyle of Darien, Elizabeth Aki of Brunswick, Dewayne Edwards and wife, Tammy of Darien, Barbara Daniels and husband, Bobby of Jesup and Jamie Aki of Darien. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
Memorial services will be private.
