Barbara Angelika Johnson, 75, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family under the care of Hospice of South Georgia, Inc.
A resident of Jesup, Georgia for more than fifteen years and a former resident of Valdosta, Georgia for many years, Barbara was born on February 7, 1948 in Celle, Germany to the late Angus and Elizabeth Kaske Johnson. She spent her early years in England before moving to the United States where she continued her education at Valdosta State University. Barbara was a seamstress by trade who enjoyed gardening in her spare time. She was a member of the Ruby Riggins Camelia Garden Club and was unique, intelligent and caring. Barbara had a tenacious spirit and was truly “one of a kind.” In addition to her parents, her husband, Fred Lee Johnson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her two sons, Carson Johnson and fiancé, Heather Smith and Nate Johnson and fiancé, Darcy Handel all of Jesup, Georgia; grandchildren, Dylan Johnson of Athens, Georgia, Wade Johnson of Jesup, Georgia, Natalie and Kaden Johnson, both of Nashville, Georgia and one great grandchild, Arilynn Faith Scott. Numerous extended family members and friends also survive.
Memorial services will be private.
